Anyone interested in getting nearby schools or districts together for a VEX field trip definitely should!
One of my students said it was the most fun field trip of the year!
The activities set up were:
Mars Competition field

Robot Hungry Hungry Hippo
Cup Castle Crasher
Cup Maze

What a wonderful collaboration! I could see this being a great recurring ‘field trip’ throughout the year to offer a touchpoint for students to connect with their ‘STEM Buddies’ in another school. I’m remembering partner classrooms and pen pals from my own school experiences, and I feel like this could be a great jumping off point for something like that - but centered around STEM/Robotics. What an awesome celebration of learning @Jessica_Drayer and @Tina_Dietrich!
@Tina_Dietrich @Jessica_Drayer Did you ladies plan this while at the Conference? It would be great to hear more how far you travelled and how often you plan to connect the ‘STEM Buddies’
@Nicole_Champagne: The conference was a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect, and we exchanged contacts. We planned it over the weeks after the conference. As for travel, it’s wonderful that our schools are only about 15 minutes apart!!
@Audra_Selkowitz: YES! The ‘STEM Buddies’ like pen pals is exactly what we’re hoping for!! Especially since our schools are so close. This is definitely something @Tina_Dietrich and I talked about doing more and more throughout the years.
