Competition Field Assembly Question

We have the portable field and game elements for last year’s competition Slapshot. The teacher building it has come across pieces that he cannot figure out where they belong. The field is close to being finished and is functional. I’ve attached a picture of the pieces. Can anyone can help let me know where these should go, or if they are even needed?

Hi @Tina_Dietrich!

I wonder if some of these pieces are from IQ and some are from V5. The portable field would be a VRC field for the V5 game, while Slapshot is an IQ game played on an IQ Field.

It looks like some of the pieces (bottom left) could be from the Slapshot elements. Here are the build instructions for that assembly.

It looks like those pieces in the center are from this year’s VRC game (Over Under). Here are the build instructions for that assembly.

Some of those other pieces (top right) look like they’re coming from a VRC field. Here are the build instructions for that assembly.

It seems to me that there are a lot of pieces from different fields here, but i’ll tag @Matthew_Goodwin to help us just in case

Also just wanted to note that many of these builds have 3D instructions as well at builds.vex.

Sorry…It’s the Spin Up game…but I believe the pieces are from the portable field.

Hi @Tina_Dietrich! As Lauren mentioned, it seems that some of the pieces before you are from the Competition Field (metal walls, shown below).

To confirm, you are attempting to build the Spin Up Portable Field Assembly (platic walls, shown below)?

Would you happen to have each of these fields in your vicinity that the pieces may have gotten mixed around?

It is the portable field with the plastic walls that is being built. We do not have the other field. The teacher/students building it have gone back through directions and just can’t seems to figure out where they go.

You don’t need these parts for the portable field.
The rubber feet are only used on the metal field to raise the perimeter up to tile height. On a portable field, that part is built in to the field perimeter.
The metal 90-degree parts are shown in the image above, and are brackets to hold the corners of the metal perimeter together but again, this is integrated into the portable field so you don’t need these.
The little 6 sided parts are used on the metal field and are used where things like the rollers bolt to the edge. For the portable field, there were 3x1 IQ style beams instead.

The game element kit contains parts to make it compatible with both fields, so you’ll end up with some left over that are for the other field type.
