Computer Science Education Week is December 9th-15th this year, and with that brings the annual Hour of Code initiative! This year, VEX is excited to once again be offering a wealth of activities that can be used to inspire creativity and exploration with computer science that can last for a single hour, or more if you so choose.
There are activities available across the entire VEX Continuum, including VEXcode VR. In honor of CS Education week, ALL VR Playgrounds AND SWITCH will be unlocked for all users for the ENTIRE MONTH OF DECEMBER! This is a great opportunity to explore new Playgrounds with students, and to try out Switch blocks if you haven’t already!
This year’s focus is on incorporating Switch into these hour-long coding challenges. As such you will see additional short videos and context added to the Tiles for each activity and in the Teacher Facilitation Guides. The Why Switch? video introduces Switch and why it is a useful tool to help students navigate the blocks to text transition with comfort and confidence. The How to Use Switch video walks through how to incorporate Switch blocks into a project in VEXcode.
