Customizing Activities with VEXcode VR - VEX Robotics Educators Conference 2026

Hi everyone! Thank you to those who attended our Customizing Activities with VEXcode VR workshop at the 2026 VEX Educators Conference!

VEXcode VR is part of the VEX Continuum, a K-12 STEM learning plan that connects VEX platforms through shared resources, curriculum, and a consistent coding interface from elementary school through high school and beyond. VEXcode VR spans the entire Continuum, giving students another way to practice and explore alongside the platforms they’re already using.

This session was all about how flexible and customizable VEXcode VR’s playgrounds can be. In Constellation Creator, participants uploaded a star map to the Art Canvas+ playground and coded their VR Robot to draw their own constellation using the pen tool, bringing in a fun storytelling element along the way. Then in Navigate the Maze, everyone built and customized their own maze in the Wall Maze+ playground before coding their robot to solve it, with bonus challenges like tracing the path with the pen or starting from a second entry point.

We also took some time to look at the Switch feature, which lets students convert individual blocks into their Python equivalent right inside a blocks project, making the move to text-based coding feel gradual and approachable rather than overwhelming.

If you’d like to explore more VEXcode VR activities to use with your students, check out the VEXcode VR Activities page.

I loved seeing everyone put their own creative spin on the activities. Thank you again for joining us!
