Hello,
I’ve just started teaching with the CTE Workcells this school year and I’m looking for some extra activities I can do between the lessons from the Introduction to the 6-Axis Arm Course.
Specifically, I would like to give students a little more time after Unit 1 Lesson 3 for them to practice finding (x,y,z) coordinates with the robot arm. I’ve always found the activities VEX has for EXP and V5 really useful for this type of thing (I used a lot of the sensor-related ones last year). I suppose since the CTE Workcell is pretty new, there hasn’t been anything like that added to the VEX curriculum yet.
Does anyone know of any other resources that could help with this? Or at least somewhere where could make the activity myself? Thanks for the help!

Hi there!
We don’t have any activities for CTE at this time, but I was able to put together a quick template for you to copy from and make your own if you want them to stay in the same format of the ones you already know. Link to the template here.
For adding more practice to finding coordinates, You could use the images from the Digital Engineering Notebook template to call out whatever numbers you want to them to find coordinates of. Throwing in two images here (one from the layouts in the standard template and one of just the tile with numbers from the digital parts document)
You also could do a cool remix where you provide coordinates and then the students have to tell you which of the Tile numbers is associated with those coordinate values.

Yeah of course! Here are links for the Google Slides and the PowerPoint versions. These will prompt you to make a copy immediately. In this slideshow are images at scale that you can use to create custom pages in a digital engineering notebook or for your activities.
If you ever help to find need these again or to direct students to the links, they’re at the bottom of the very first page of Unit 1 – Introduction where we ask students to set up their digital engineering notebook.
