Hi @Desiree_White-Price! I wonder if you could do some simple experiments with driving a robot for specific amounts of time, and measuring the distance traveled. You could then graph the data (distance on one axis, time on the other), and have students figure out which variable (time v distance) is dependent vs. independent. You could also have them calculate the average distance per second or per minute. Then expand on that to reverse it and ask questions like how long would it take the robot to drive a foot, a yard, a mile. That could then potentially build in some of the equation components.
