So last week I introduced Switch Blocks to my students. We had completed the CS Block’s course for Units 1-3. The students do VEXcode VR Monday through Thursday, and we have “Physical Fridays” each week, where the students have a chance to do some engineering design work through building challenges (I’ll share those challenges in another thread. II feel it’s important for the students to have a chance to BOTH code and build. To introduce the Switch Blocks, I walked them through what the blocks are, where to find them, and how to convert Blocks into Switch Blocks. The students completed a Scavenger Hunt to demonstrate comprehension. Switch Scavenger Hunt - Google Docs
I’m so glad to hear how you are using Switch in your classroom! This Scavenger Hunt could be a great way to make sure kids are familiar with the basics, before they get too far into trying to jump right into the application.
I think it could be a fun future activity, as students learn about how to do more with Switch, to have them create their own Scavenger Hunts for other students in the class, applying what they’ve learned to make a new hunt.
