IQ Battery

I have chaged the IQ batter overnight. I checked on it today, and it showed only 45%. Does that mean something wrong with the battery? How long does it take to reach 100%?
Thank you for yoour help!

Hi @Quynh_Nhu_Tran! Thank you for your question, are you charging a 1st or 2nd gen IQ Battery?

Hi Lauren,
I have the 2nd gen IQ.

Perfect! How are you charging it? Are you using the cable from the Kit? Are you plugging it directly into a wall outlet?

I used the cable.

I charged 5 of the IQ battery for training, 1 of them got to 50%. The last 4 only 45%. That was started from 9:00AM. When I was ready to leave the office at 5PM, still 45%. So I decided to leave it overnight…Still the same percentage in the morning.

I see, I’m sorry to hear about this. Are you reading the Battery percentage from the Robot Brain’s screen when you plug the Battery in? Or are you pressing the button on the Battery, like this.

  • 1 light = 0-25% charge
  • 2 lights = 25-50% charge
  • 3 lights = 50-75% charge
  • 4 lights = 75-100% charge

When you plugged the batteries in, did the LED light indicators come on and start blinking as expected when it starts a charge cycle?

I read it from the brain…I recalled they do have 4 lights but still 45% on the brain. Does it matter? Thanks so muuch for your your guidance.

Hello! Thanks so much for all of the information while we look into this! Is your Brain’s firmware up to date?

Here are some articles on how to confirm this:

I updated them when I got the sets. That was last year…When we did the training, it did lead our teachers to update the brain. I haven’t charged them since…

Are you testing all 5 Batteries on the same Brain? If so, could you try it on another Brain? I’m wondering if the Batteries are really the issue or if it’s the Brain and the way it’s reading the Battery percentage.

Hi @Quynh_Nhu_Tran Did you still have any questions regarding the charge of the batteries?
