Has anyone created an activity for students to work on position words like ‘next to, behind, in front of’ etc? I was thinking along the lines of pictures with the 123 robot and the students can code to that request. Thanks!!
That’s a great idea! You could use picture cards with scenarios like “next to the chair” or “behind the table,” and have students program their VEX 123 robots to match these positions. It’s a fun way to teach position words while also helping them understand that turning right or left is about rotating in place, not moving forward. This hands-on activity will make both coding and spatial concepts more engaging and clear!
- In robotics, “rotation” or “angular motion” describes turning the robot around a fixed point to change its direction, without moving it forward or backward.
