New AI Vision Sensor STEM Lab Unit!

Hi all! Excited to share our newest EXP STEM Lab Unit – Clean Water Mission. This Unit is themed around one of the UN’s sustainability goals surrounding clean water and access to clean water, creating a strong real-world connection.

In this Unit, students are faced with open-ended challenges using the AI Vision Sensor to solve problems. Your students will need to have access to the sensor in order to complete this Unit. You can find the purchase page for the sensor here.

What I love about this open-ended challenge structure is the freedom it gives students to identify their problems and find the resources that they need in order to create their solution. In the Unit Overview, the students are given the tools they need: a problem-solving process to use, a rubric to guide them, and links to resources like the VEX Library, VEX API, and more. They then get to take all of that and forge their own path. This new VEX Library article talks all about learning in open-ended challenges and the productive struggle that students will have.

How will you incorporate open-ended challenges into your classroom? What do you think about the new Unit? I’d love to hear!
