Good afternoon, colleagues.
So, let me introduce my new VEX GO model — InchWorm!
Did you know that an inchworm is a caterpillar of geometer moths?
It moves in a very characteristic way: first it “folds” its body, then stretches forward again.
It looks as if it is “measuring” distance in small steps.
That’s why its name is connected to the unit of measurement — inch.
- This principle of movement is often used in robotics, converting rotational motion into reciprocating motion.
- It can also include a ratchet mechanism to fix the wheel positions.
