Hi all! This was our first year to dive into competitions, and now we’re getting ready for year 2. Does anyone have any tips on what to do with previous year’s game elements?
Thanks!

Hi @Carrie_Gooch! I’ve seen many people do so many different things with previous game elements:
-
Use them for practicing game play. Even though the game is over, they can be a great resource for new teams, clubs, or even classrooms that are just learning the basics before they decide to actually compete in the current game.
-
Recycle them into awards or souvenirs. I see a lot of schools and teams do this, especially for the senior members of their team who won’t be with them anymore next year.
-
Turn them into a fun recycling design challenge! You can use the parts and ask students to create something functional out of the parts.

I’d love to hear how others are reusing their game pieces!
Your game pieces might also be really useful to younger grades, or other classes. For instance, sharing extra IQ game building pieces or disks with students who are using VEX GO could give them a chance to explore some free building ideas they may not have been otherwise able to. You could also demo your team’s robot and game play for younger students as a way to get them excited about what is to come, and for your team to be able to reflect on the ‘highlights’ of their season.
