Are there directions for this specific robot build? It is a clawbot, but a different version from the one in the STEM labs.
Hi Leonard,
That image (I think it comes from the sales page?) was made before we actually had our first set of builds with EXP. One of the reasons we didn’t end up making this as instructions is because of the bent metal at the claw. Since EXP kits are meant to be used year after year in a classroom, bending metal felt like a bad choice to longevity of kit pieces. It also does use 2 Bumper Switches for the back piece, so it would require two kits to create or just extra sensors.
Are you looking for other claw options in your class? Would be happy to help you figure out an option or two depending on what you’re looking for.
Thanks! I was looking for another option, maybe quicker build, as a potential summer camp idea. We have a mock game idea for the students to play.
Have you tried the Speed Build for EXP? I actually built a few of them in prep for the conference and it was very quick!
I bet you could also mount the claw from the Clawbot on the front if you wanted to do a simple Clawbot
My gut reaction is that you could use the red Plastic Linkage Beams on the back of the claw build and use that to connect a claw to the Speed Build! Would remove the need for an Arm and simplify some of the build process.
Obviously would need to test if this works, but wanted to throw this out as an idea too

I am not sure the different levels of the kids that I will have. Some probably have IQ experience and some V5, so it will be good to have a few options available. Thanks!
