The new school year at RoboWow started with a super fun and creative Robot SUMO challenge! ![]()

About every fourth lesson, I organize a creative competition where students receive only part of the model as a reference, while the rest of the robot is designed and built by them using the knowledge they have gained in class.
During this lesson, we explore many interesting engineering concepts, such as gear reduction, center of mass, how to make a robot stronger but slower, and how the robot’s weight and weight distribution affect traction and pushing force.
