Scope and Sequence for Teaching Computer Science with VEX 123

Hi All!

I wanted to let you know that we have created a scope and sequence specifically for teaching computer science with VEX 123. You can find it at teach123.vex.com.

Here’s a link in case you want to check it out right now!

It is designed for students with some experience with VEX 123. It begins with using the Coder and Coder Cards and helps students progress to using VEXcode 123. Computer science topics such as sequencing, debugging, creating algorithms, and AI Literacy are all incorporated!

Each week provides teachers with guidance for what to do before, during, and after class, and links out to all the resources needed to easily implement the activities in the classroom.

Check it out and let us know what you think!

This is great! I’ve been looking for something like this.

I’m a STEAM teacher. I teach with 123 for K-2 and with Go for 3-5. We have also just started a competitive team for IQ. I was wondering if there is a scope and sequence for all of VEX to ensure all coding and building skills are taught. If not, is there a checklist of all building and coding skills that can be used?

Hi @Audra_Dupuis Thanks for the question. This is something that we are actually working on, but don’t have just yet. Stay tuned. Thanks,
