Struggling on how to use VEX GO

Is there a list of which website shows what? I am completely lost with using the large VEX GO bundle. I tried two 1:1 consults, have the master class PD, I just can’t figure out where to go to get started with the students. I was under the impression that this would be easy. Is anyone else struggling?

Hi @Marie_Ouellette, I know there are many places to find resources for VEX GO. Let me try to consolidate some here, that might be helpful for you.

All of the VEX curricular resources are located at education.vex.com. On that page you can scroll down and select the VEX GO icon, to get to the GO section. (which I’ve linked here).

You mentioned you were using the VEX Masterclass, and we chatted about VEX GO Activities in our last 1-on-1 Session. The Activities are simple, 1 page Google docs, that are a great place to get started teaching with GO. They can be found on that same page linked above - right here.

There are a lot of Activities, that use various builds, and feature different subjects or topics. You can look for only those Activities with a specific focus or build, by using the filters to the left side of the Activities page, here.

You can build a lesson around an Activity, and if you want help with sequencing Activities and shaping lessons around them for your particular students, we’d be happy to chat more in another 1-on-1 Session

One step up from an Activity, is an Activity Series, where there are some teacher notes and a story to tie together a sequence of Activities. These are a great next step, because you get a little bit more teacher scaffolding, with the Teacher Notes at the start of the series. Activity Series can be found in that same [GO section of education.vex.com]((VEX GO | VEX Education), and they are grouped with the STEM Labs. To view only the Activity Series, select the Activity Series filter, like this.

You mentioned you were working through the VEX Masterclass - Introduction to Building with VEX GO. You can complete each chapter for yourself, then teach that same lesson to your students, and work through the course that way.

In Chapters 5, 6, and 7 of that the VEX Masterclass, there are lessons that talk about teaching STEM Labs, and connects what you did yourself in the Chapter, with the parts of a STEM Lab. I’d recommend using that information when you are ready to move into teaching with STEM Labs. STEM Labs will give you a much more comprehensive lesson than an Activity, including things like student facing image slideshows, and animations. You can also schedule a 1-on-1 Session to sequence STEM Labs for your needs, and get personalized instruction on how to make the STEM Labs work best for you.

I hope this is helpful, and again, I’d be happy to chat more in another 1-on-1 Session at any time.
