My Kindergarten students learned all about teen numbers this week. I incorporated VEX123 and placed numerals along with corresponding bear counters on the tiles. The students had to code from the numeral while subitizing to the correct picture of bear counters. They had a blast!!
Great activity! Thanks for sharing.
This is great, @Danielle_McCoy! I did something similar a couple of months ago to help reinforce “combo-buddies” to 10. We used a Cricut machine to cut out numbers, 1-9. The students rolled dice to find their starting number, then programmed the VEX 123 to find the buddy to 10 (ie. Start on 4, drive to 6)
That’s awesome! I love using my Cricut to help enhance my lessons.
I’m teaching partners of 10 now! This would be a really good activity to try!
