Thanksgiving Collaboration

Students in one of the 2nd grade classes buddied up with a 1st grade classroom to collaborate on the planning of their VEX bot floats for the upcoming Thanksgiving Day VEX parade! Students will use their imaginations and creativity to create floats to showcase in their classrooms. I cannot wait to see their final products.

What other activities do you have students create around the Thanksgiving holiday? Last year, I also read aloud Balloons Over Broadway as an introduction to the activity!!

@Danielle_McCoy @Tina_Dietrich @Audra_Selkowitz @Aimee_DeFoe This year we are doing a Thanksgiving feast. Our theme is to teach students manners and what gratitude is. We are going to have students create coding cards to program the robot to say please and thank you.

Love this! This makes me think of having students decorate placemats and code their robots to “drive” pictures of the food to their plates or set the table.

I think another great (SEL) activity would be to collaborate during a morning meeting and come up with all the things students are grateful for. Those ideas could be placed on the tiles and the students could then code to them.
