Hi community!
With Thanksgiving quickly approaching next week, I was thinking about having my Kindergarten students code their 123 robots to create their favorite Thanksgiving dinner. They would start their robots on their plate and code to various Thanksgiving foods like Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc.
What fun things are you doing for the holiday??

Great idea! It might be a little higher than the scope of learning for kinder, but another way to expand this could be to compare a contemporary thanksgiving meal with food items from the first thanksgiving. When I used to teach 4th grade, my students were always shocked that the first thanksgiving probably included fish!

I love reading Balloons Over Broadway too and having students create floats/balloons with the art ring.

I fun read-aloud to pair with the Thanksgiving Dinner activity is “Turkey Trouble” by Wendi Silvano. I love the Storyline Online version read by Marc Maron! Gobble-gobble!
