Trouble wirelessly downloading V5 Projects using the V5 Controller

Greetings! At vexworlds, I was excited to find out that students can use the controller to remotely program the brain (i.e. not as a remote but more as a radio tower/bluetooth substitute). Can someone send me the knowledge base so I can see the step-by-step instructions? Our micro usb ports are wonky so this would be a huge help for us!

Hi @KATHERINE_TOPPER! Yes  here it is, let me know if you need any other assistance!

I also just wanted to note that this should work if both the Brain and the Controller are both in Bluetooth or VEXnet mode.

Hi @Keith_Bernhard! Welcome to the Community!

I’m sorry to hear that the Brain and Controller are not connecting. Can I ask for some more information? Or if you have a video where you can share what is happening?

Here are a few questions to start our troubleshooting process:

  • What device are you using and running VEXcode on?
  • Do you have a radio connected to the Brain via a Smart Cable or wirelessly using a Smart Radio?
  • Is the USB cable connected to the Controller throughout the entire downloading process?

Also, this process (wirelessly downloading via the Controller) is only supported on Windows, Mac, Chromebook and wirelessly downloading via bluetooth for iOS / Android using the app-based version of VEXcode V5, downloadable here. It is not yet supported for the browser-based version.
