Using nets to show rectangles and triangles

Good morning,
Does anyone have any lessons that cover the following standard: Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made of rectangles and triangles. This is for a 6th grade classroom. @Tina_Dietrich @Alaina_Haws @Jimmy_Lin

Hi @Desiree_White-Price ! You can definitely challenge students to build cubes and rectangular prisms using the plates, connectors and pins in GO and IQ kits. I’d have the students lay the plates out flat in the shape of the net, and then figure out how to use the connectors and pins to put them together. I’ll keep thinking about how you might incorporate some triangles, as I don’t have an immediate answer to that. And, I’ll post pictures when I can - I’m traveling and don’t have immediate access to a Kit!

Thank you soo much!
