. One of the coders, that I just took out of the plastic doesn’t seem to behave the same as the others. The light on it keeps switching between green and red, without anything touching it. When I have tried pressing the buttons at the top it doesn’t respond. I took the batteries back out and tried it several times after re-inserting the batteries and holding them in different ways to keep them in. I didn’t get any success with that either. There have been a few moments where I think it is working and I try pairing a robot with it, but the second I move the coder, it starts to not work again. Any suggestions on how to get it to work or what I should do?

I think it might need a firmware update. Try to update using the Classroom App and update the firmware. The following article will provide you a step-by-step guide.
