When our district began implementing VEX into our curriculum, our director set up a hands-on learning day. Students from each of our elementary buildings along with a neighboring school came together and rotated through different VEX mini games!
- Soccer
- Mars Exploration Comp.
- “Hungry, Hungry” VEX
- Code & Carry the Cup
- Build the highest tower/Code to knock it down
How do you celebrate the end of the school year?

@Danielle_McCoy I usually conduct either competition-style lessons or creative/semi-creative building lessons. Everything depends on the group of children, their age, and their level of robotics skills.
For creative models, I usually prepare a basic structure myself — for example, a racing car chassis with motors — and then the children have to complete the build on their own and program it. If needed, they can also improve and modify the model.
As for competitions, I usually organize robot sumo, tug-of-war challenges, or the racing competitions mentioned above.
