Is there a way to update all firmware myself on my robots? All day I have had issues, student desktops (that are old) have either not allowed students to download, or if they do it takes forever and then freezes. I would then do it on my laptop and it would work, and when I return it would ask on their computer to update again. Any tips/help is appreciated. Thank you!
Sorry, Yes 2nd gen IQ’s- I am using old desktop windows & yes installed version. I’ve never tried the online version on the desktops. I will try today. You brought up another issue for me, I don’t have enough desktops for some classes so some kids have to use their chromebooks. I have always installed VEX IQ on those as well- but I see as of January it will not be an option. I have had kids go on the online version accidentally and it won’t allow them to download, it doesn’t work as I tried yesterday. How do I navigate that as well?
While you can still add VEXcode IQ from the Chrome Web Store to your Chromebook until then, it will become unusable once Google discontinues Chrome Apps. We strongly recommend transitioning to the Web-based version of VEXcode IQ, which offers all the capabilities and functionality of the App-based version. For more information on making this transition, please visit our guide on switching from App-based VEXcode IQ to Web-based VEXcode IQ.
When you say it won’t allow them to download , could you elaborate and include a screenshot?
Thank you, I will look at the resources you provided. The “download” doesn’t illuminate to allow the download to take place. I tried the web version on the desktop last period and it told me to download a windows driver, so I did but it still wouldn’t illuminate to download. I need my tech guys to help, but I’m not sure how to lead them. I’ll have them try- and I’ll explain.
Hi there,This might not be directly related, but here’s a tip: we were accidentally putting the VEX IQ Brain into firmware update mode by clicking other buttons before pressing the Check button to turn it on. To start it correctly, just press the Check button with the battery inserted.
