Storage is an important task that must be handled with utmost care in order to properly utilize the space possessed in an efficient and effective manner. Here at the VEX Pittsburgh office our V5 and IQ parts are stored in Global Industrial Bins 4-1/8"W x 11-5/8"L x 4"H as well as Uline Plastic Shelf Bins- 7 x 18 x 4" and are organized and labeled into groups where they are then placed onto the appropriate shelf. To divide the stored parts inside the bins the Shelf Bin Divider Fits 4"Wx4"H and Shelf Bin Divider Fits 7"Wx4" are used for the smaller and larger bins respectively, this is done for better clarity for whoever is looking to retrieve a specific part. These dividers can be bought and used for Global Industrial or Uline without conflicting with one another. The shelving used to store the bins must also be noted as they go hand in hand, in this instance the shelving units being used are the Uline Chrome Wire Shelving Unit - 36 x 18 x 72" which can fit around five of the larger bins and around eight of the smaller bin per row as demonstrated in the picture found below. For our storage of the IQ parts the electronics of the V5 Brains, Battery, Motors, Sensors, and other electronic components are kept on the bottom shelves. In the center shelfs the parts for structure such beams, plates, and connectors are grouped together. The parts used for motion and mobility such as gears, sprockets, and wheels are located on the top shelves. The placements of these parts can be used as an example and the placements of parts on the shelves are up to whatever format best suits individual or group.
